Marina Times Lawsuit Against Supervisor Dean Preston Dismissed
SAN FRANCISCO – Today, conservative blogger Susan Dyer Reynolds stipulated to dismiss her lawsuit, filed on behalf of the Marina Times, against Supervisor Dean Preston. The lawsuit will be dismissed “with prejudice,” meaning it cannot be refiled. Under the stipulation, Reynolds will get none of the relief requested in her lawsuit.
“This is a complete victory and Reynold’s frivolous lawsuit against me is now history,” said Preston.
Reynolds sued Preston after he blocked the Marina Times on Twitter in the wake of a post in which Reynolds, using the Marina Times account, threatened violence against Preston’s family. A democratic socialist, Preston has plenty of critics online, none of whom have ever been blocked, but he draws the line at threats to his family, as is his right.
“I want to thank the City Attorney’s office, particularly Deputy City Attorney Tara Steeley, for the excellent representation in this case,” said Preston. The case is Preston v. Reynolds, Case No. 23-15504.
