The first-of-its-kind program will give out $4,500 towards a new or a current business. That's a total of $144,000 from the city. One of the main requirements is to be part of the city's small business training program. In other words, go through training that teaches you how to run a business.

KRON4: Former safe haven for homeless during pandemic, Oasis Inn to become shelter

On Tuesday, the Tenderloin-based service center St. Anthony Foundation announced its plans to step in and purchase Oasis Inn so families residing in its 59 hotel rooms would not have to move out. St. Anthony’s considers the acquisition of 900 Franklin St. to be a major expansion in its commitment to providing stability for San Franciscans in need.

Under the operations of the Providence Foundation of San Francisco, the hotel will continue to provide private rooms for over 300 women and children a year, including survivors of domestic violence.
