Fillmore & Turk Mini Park Reopening in the Historic Western Addition Community

Today, with Mayor Breed, the New Community Leadership Foundation (NCLF), TS Studio, A. Philip Randolph Institute San Francisco, City Build, and various City departments, Supervisor Preston will celebrate the re-opening of the Fillmore Mini-Park.

“When I first took office, community leaders at NCLF came to share the community vision for the Fillmore Mini-Park,” said Supervisor Preston. “Today, thanks to their dedication and the hard work of so many community leaders, the dedicated design and construction teams, and city staff, this project has come to fruition. The Fillmore Mini-Park is back and better than ever.”

The Fillmore Turk Mini Park park is not just a park, it is a community forum and gathering space in the heart of the Fillmore. It is one of the only places in D5 that includes an outdoor stage and space for residents to gather. The loss of the space during construction was difficult for the community, but community members have expressed optimism with its reopening.

“We’re thrilled to celebrate the reopening of the Fillmore Mini-Park,” said Majeid Crawford, Executive Director of NCLF. “It’s been a top priority for NCLF and the entire community. The new and improved Mini-Park will be a source of pride for the neighborhood and provide open space for performances, recreation, and community events for years to come.”
